Sex and Relationship Education should be made compulsory in all schools is the demand made by young people to the Government through the UK Youth Parliament.

The UK Youth Parliament is a national organisation run by young people for young people. It gives a voice to those aged 11 to 18 to have an influence and make things change.

There are over 500 elected Members of Youth Parliament. Each Local Education Authority (for example, Kirklees) has an elected member.

In 2007/2008 the UK Youth Parliament has three main campaigns:

• Sex and Relationship Education should be compulsory. The UK Youth Parliament argues that all young people should have the best Sex and Relationship Education. What’s it like in your school? Is it good enough? Are you getting enough? Get it on the School Council agenda!

• Reduce fares on buses

• The right to vote in elections at 16
