The Calderdale and Huddersfield Chlamydia Screening Programme works with services and young people aged 15-25 years to raise awareness of Chlamydia, and screen, treat and reduce re-infection by treating partners.

1 in 10 young people have Chlamydia and with 70% of females and 50% of males not having any symptoms most people do not know they have it. Left undetected it can ultimately mean males and females are unable to have children later in life. Screening is as simple as providing a urine sample and some contact details- most young people opt to have their result returned by text message.

We can talk to you about your lifestyle and accessing services, we can meet young people after school / college hours in a place that is comfortable for young people.

Chlamydia Screening is FREE. Treatment- antibiotics- is taken out to the young person, it is free and partners are encouraged to access treatment at the same time, a follow up contact a week later ensures the treatment has been effective.
