IT’S A FIRST FOR NEW COLLEGE!
Since March 1st, Huddersfield New College students have the benefit of extended services on site, so no more 3 mile trips to the town centre! Nurse Kathy Smith has recently set up the service on 4 days per week in addition to Chlamydia Screening, Pregnancy Testing and Condom Distribution which is available in term time. This means that students can get Emergency Contraception, Contraceptive Pill and Injection directly without prescription. It will also be possible to book in for a contraceptive implant following discussion with Kathy.
This service is unique to New College and is already proving extremely popular. Students can also choose to see a male health professional Dr Joe Schembri or Student Welfare Nurse Lorraine Kiernan as part of the Open Door drop in.
